Repair help for the computers people actually depend on — the family desktop, the laptop used for work, the machine that has simply become difficult to live with.

Common reasons people call

Is this your problem?

  • A browser or folder takes minutes to open, or the machine stalls after a few clicks
  • It shuts down, freezes or restarts without warning
  • A blue screen or an error loop appears before Windows loads
  • The fan runs loudly, the case feels hot, and performance drops as it warms up
  • A laptop will not charge, or the battery empties within an hour
  • Search results are redirected, toolbars appear, or messages push you to call someone
  • A program will not open, install, or update properly
  • It will not come out of sleep, or will not wake from it

What the work covers

What the work covers

  • Startup, storage, memory, temperatures and event history are reviewed before parts are suggested
  • Windows, driver and update problems that imitate hardware failure are ruled out first
  • Unwanted programs, browser hijackers and nagging popups are removed, and the browser is reset to something sane
  • Failing or nearly full drives are identified early, so your files are copied off while they can still be read
  • Fan, heat and battery faults are measured, not guessed at
  • You get an honest read on repair versus replace, including when a machine is past the point of being worth the money

Diagnosed first, replaced second

Most "dying computers" are one clear fault: a drive that has worn out, a memory module that has slipped, a background program eating the machine, or heat that has nowhere to go. Finding which one it is costs far less than swapping parts until something sticks, so the check comes first and the parts list comes after — with the reasoning explained.

Your files are treated as the priority

Before anything is reinstalled or wiped, the important folders are identified and copied where that is possible. If a drive has failed in a way that limits what can be saved, that is said plainly rather than left as a maybe, because knowing early changes what you decide to do.

Repaired, then checked

The machine is restarted, updated and used as you would use it before it is handed back — not just powered on once and declared fixed. Anything still worth watching is pointed out so it does not become a surprise two weeks later.

Common questions

Asked before calling

Ask us directly: 604-721-7390
Do I bring the computer to you?
Tell us what is happening and we will agree the simplest way to get hands on the machine. Some faults can be looked at where the computer sits; others are quicker to work on once they are off the desk.
Can you get my files back?
When a drive still reads, files are usually copied off before anything else is done. If the drive has physically failed, we say so rather than promise a recovery — that is a different kind of job.
Is it worth repairing an older computer?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. You get the straight answer with the numbers behind it: what the fault costs, how much life is left in the machine, and what a replacement would genuinely give you over the repair.
