Windows troubleshooting in North & West Vancouver

Windows problems are rarely dramatic — they are the small daily blockages: an update that fails and retries, a password that no longer works, mail that will not send, a folder you cannot find. These are fixed properly, and the cause is explained so it does not quietly come back.

Patient help with the operating system itself — the layer where most home computer frustration actually lives.

What people ask for help with

Is this your problem?

  • Windows Update fails, repeats, or installs the same patch over and over
  • You are locked out by a password, PIN or Microsoft account you no longer recognise
  • Two accounts appear after a reset, and files sit in the one you do not use
  • Outlook or mail stops sending, or keeps asking for a password
  • A file or folder has gone missing after an update or a sync
  • The default browser, search engine or homepage changed by itself
  • Windows Defender quarantines a file you need, or blocks a program from opening
  • The system is slow to boot, or background processes run constantly

What the work covers

What the work covers

  • Account and sign-in recovery, including Microsoft accounts, PINs and local profiles
  • Broken update chains, stuck feature upgrades and the leftovers they leave behind
  • Mail profiles reconnected, with the right account settings and spam filtering checked
  • Missing files chased through OneDrive, backups and previous versions, and the sync put back correctly
  • Browser, search and startup settings reset to your choice, with the unwanted changes removed
  • Startup programs, background services and scheduled tasks trimmed so the machine feels quick again

The setting that caused it gets fixed

Patching the symptom is easy and rarely lasts. A failed update is usually a sign something is in the way — a half-removed program, a full system partition, an outside security product. The underlying reason is found and cleared, so the next update lands on its own.

Nothing is removed without asking

Old accounts, browser toolbars, sync folders and saved passwords are shown to you before anything is deleted. Where a choice is genuinely yours — which account to keep, which folder to sync — you make it, with the consequences explained.

Written down so it is repeatable

When the work is done you know what was changed, what account or password now matters, and what to do if the same message appears again. No secrets left inside the machine.

Common questions

Asked before calling

Ask us directly: 604-721-7390
Can you help without resetting Windows?
Usually yes. A reset is the last option, not the first — most problems are one account, one update or one program in the way. A reset wipes your setup, so it is only suggested when there is no cleaner route.
I am locked out of my Microsoft account.
That is one of the most common calls. Recovery depends on what security details are still reachable, and the options are explained before anything is attempted, because some routes close doors.
Which Windows versions do you work on?
Windows 11 and Windows 10, on laptops and desktops from the usual makers. If a machine has been retired by Microsoft, that is flagged, because staying on an unsupported version is its own risk.
