Wi-Fi & networking
Home Wi-Fi and networking in North & West Vancouver
Houses here are not flat — there are hills, deep lots, concrete, thick walls and rooms far from the router. Weak Wi-Fi is usually a layout problem, not a bad-provider problem. The network is checked room by room, then fixed with the smallest sensible change.

Getting a steady connection to the parts of the house that currently have none — the desk in the basement, the bedroom at the back, the porch.
What the visit starts with
Is this your problem?
- One room has one bar, or none at all, while the rest of the house is fine
- Video calls drop or blur while the speed test next to the router looks excellent
- The connection drops at the same time each day, or when someone else joins
- Smart bulbs, cameras, doorbells or speakers will not stay joined
- The provider's combined modem and router is doing everything and doing it poorly
- You pay for a fast plan and cannot feel the speed away from the router
- A printer, drive or computer on the other side of the house is unreachable
What the work covers
What the work covers
- Signal measured in the rooms you actually use, so the weak spots are named instead of guessed
- Router placement, channel and band settings adjusted on the equipment you already own
- Mesh, extender or access-point options compared with what the house and budget make sense for
- The provider's equipment separated where that helps, so one box stops doing four jobs badly
- Wired connections planned and run to the desks, TVs and offices that need a steady line
- Smart home devices joined on a sensible network, with guest access kept separate from your own devices
The house decides the equipment
A bigger router does not fix a house with a long shape or a lot of concrete in the way. Some homes need two access points; some need a cable to the far side of the building; some need nothing bought at all, only the router turned and set properly. The layout is read first.
Fixed without breaking what works
Devices that are already joined — cameras, printers, thermostats, speakers — are the awkward part of any network change. Names and passwords are kept where possible, and anything that has to move is moved with you told first, so nothing silently stops working.
Checked in the rooms, not at the box
The result is judged where you use the internet: the desk, the bedroom, the back of the garden. A fast reading beside the router proves very little, so the walkthrough happens with you holding the phone.
- Do I need to buy a mesh system?
- Not always. Sometimes moving the router a few metres, or running one cable to an access point, does what a box of three pucks would — for less. You will hear which one your house actually needs.
- Can you work with my provider's router?
- Yes. The provider's equipment is often fine once it is placed and configured properly. Where replacing it genuinely helps, the options are explained with the reason, not as a sales pitch.
- Is my Wi-Fi safe?
- Passwords, guest access and the settings that let strangers near your devices are reviewed as part of the work, and anything weak is tightened while you are there.
